Bestival

Sadly Bestival has now moved off the Island and this page is maintained in case of legacy web links only. Home>>>

Bestival is the brainchild of left field Radio 1 DJ Rob da Bank and had its humble beginnings in 2004 as an off shoot from his Sunday Best record label and club nights.  Held at Robin Hill Country park on the Isle of Wight the event is a four day festival and the first event attracted around 10,000 festival goers.

Since then it has grown steadily to over 50,000 visitors and now attracts some of the best line-ups of any festival anywhere in the UK including Florence + the Machine, New Order and Stevie Wonder at the 2012 event.

Bestival 2012 was named the best major festival of 2012 at the London's Roundhouse Festival Awards, with New Order also being named best festival headline act.

Carefully curated by Rob and his wife Josie as creative director and with cofounders John and Ziggy from Get Involved, each year gets bigger and better and is particuarly fun and friendly and increasingly well known for its fabulous themed tents and arenas and large scale fancy dress participation.
